  • We encourage the membership to promote WCC-Europe at key exhibitions, conferences and trade related events
  • Utilise the WCC-Europe website as a resource for promotion and for critical writing about craft across Europe
  • Work with members to develop the ‘Craft Cities’ and ‘European Artistic Craft Days’ initiative
  • Analyse and highlight critical challenges facing craft in Europe
  • Play an active role in the WCC International, profiling European craft in WCC International activities

This is accomplished through networking, promotion and communications

  • WCC-Europe provides opportunities to network and share resources through an annual General Assembly and at other relevant events
  • The WCC-Europe website aims to improve communication, visibility and awareness of WCC-Europe and its member organisations
  • We utilise our social media to promote the network and share information between members
  • We encourage members to take an active role in the development and promotion of WCC-Europe
  • WCC-Europe facilitates networking and collaboration between craft organisations in the EU in order to build capacity and promote craft

We collect and spread information across a large network of member entities

WCC-Europe aims to exchange and develop a resource of information that supports the contribution of craft to society from historical, social, cultural and economic perspectives. This is achieved by:

  • Conducting a survey to collect data from members and other sources to establish size, economic value and overall contribution of the sector to European society
  • Building on previous research to identify key opportunities and challenges to craft in Europe
  • Utilising the WCC-Europe website as a resource for data gathered and to highlight opportunities and challenges
  • We develop our website and social media to promote the network and share information between members
  • Encouraging critical writing and discourse on craft


We represent crafts at international, official, political and administrative levels
  • WCC-Europe encourages the membership to promote WCC-Europe at key exhibitions, conferences and trade related events
  • Engage with countries and craft internationally through the ‘Craft Cities’ and ‘European Artistic Craft Days’ initiative
  • Play an active role in the WCC International, profiling European craft in WCC International activities
  • Promote and engage with the WCC-BF European Prize for Applied Arts which celebrates the work of artists in the field of applied arts and design-led crafts and recognises excellence in craftsmanship

We foster crafts as a professional activity producing work of the highest quality
  • Engagement in the development of European initiatives such as WCC-BF European Arts Prize
  • Creation of opportunities to debate, collaborate and build capacity together with existing members
  • Attend Trade events across Europe to promote high calibre craft on an international level
  • Avail of collected research that promotes the value of craft across the EU


We join international cooperation programmes of importance to the crafts sector
  • WCC Europe contributes to the development of a relationship with the EU that delivers funding and stimulates intercultural dialogue and respect for diverse cultures and cultural expressions.
  • We create joint projects between members and increase the potential to access EU funding
  • Engage with craft internationally through the ‘Craft Cities’ and ‘European Artistic Craft Days’ initiative
  • We host an annual General Assembly with a programme of activities which creates a forum for exchange and best practice
