Discover a rare craft in Paris: chasing! Workshops for children and parents eager to discover metalwork and ornament. Chasing allows you to draw and shape metal. A collective pattern will be realized through the week in a brass sheet and every little fingers will be part of this big ornamental adventure!

About pulp and paper makers… (3 Apr): The workshop will explore different paper-making plants, from the traditional textile fibers mainly used in Europe, to more exotic or surprising plants, such as rice straw, nettles, vegetable plants. We will get to know various steps involved in transforming these plants into paper, including cooking, beating, preparing the pulp with agents… 

Paper, fibres and dyes (6 Apr): The workshop is an opportunity to discover the know-how involved in making and colouring paper, the different pigments and techniques used. We will use various colouring experiments by using various materials, perhaps even make tinted facsimiles of ancient documents.

Every 2 years, the town of Sauxillanges hosts the European Crafts Days. Around thirty craftspeople will show their creations and their know-how to the public. Join us for exhibitions, demonstrations, intergenerational workshops exploring work wood, stonemasonry and more, as well as materials, like glass, paper, fabric, leather, ceramics, basketwork, iron, enamelled lava!

The Passage Secret by Yaël Malignac and Guillaume Descoings brings together 6 artisans and 5 materials. Each artisan will, for two days, present their work on the 5 materials in front of visitors and invite you to explore the materials transforming in front of you. In a space of 250m², explore the work of artisans: stained glass artist Julie Bernard, basket maker Hélène Joly, cardboard object creators Isabelle Caillet and Olivier Gaussem, ceramist Jessica Lö, and wood turner Marc Gianferrari.

WCCE has awarded grants to organisations all over Europe to take part in the EACD as part of the Crafting project co-funded by the European Union.
