Artesania Catalunya, as part of the Consortium of Trade, Crafts and Fashion of Catalonia (CCAM), has one again this year been entrusted with promoting Catalan Crafts Week, which will be held from 19 to 25 October 2020. It will run a wide range of activities across the region under the slogan  “Crafts can save the world”.

Due to the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, for the first time ever this edition will only take place online.

Under the motto «Crafts can save the world» , the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion of Catalonia (CCAM), promotes the celebration of the ninth edition of the Week of Crafts of Catalonia, which will take place from 19 to 25 of October and that, adapting to the new context of sanitary crisis, bets to do an edition in digital format with a programming of activities that will be able to follow through the web and the social networks of the CCAM.

This year, Craft Week presents a program that is developed through 5 thematic blocks – Crafts and Sustainability ; Crafts and Contemporary ; Crafts and Territory ; Crafts and Young Talent ; and Crafts and Technology -. Conferences, debates, round tables, exhibitions, or reports, all with the aim of reflecting on the current model of society, where the values ​​of crafts take on more importance than ever, to build a more just, balanced and respectful, both in terms of way of living, consuming and towards the environment. The Week becomes a window of knowledge, in digital format, which presents the challenges of a new era.

Artesania Catalunya has also promoted, within the framework of the Week, the celebration of the 2nd edition of the International Crafts Audiovisual Exhibition, which this year has selected 10 national and international documentaries, most of them unpublished and 1 video clip , which can be seen through the Film in cinema platform. This initiative aims to promote synergies between the craft and audiovisual sector, to generate quality products based on creative craft processes and where the protagonist is the craftsman and his work.
