As the European Union’s largest cultural mobility scheme, this initiative supports artists and cultural professionals from all 40 Creative Europe countries to pursue an international project. It is funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.

Culture Moves Europe is open to the sectors of architecture, cultural heritage, design and fashion design, literature, music, performing arts and visual arts including crafts. The programme is not run or directly affiliated with WCCE but is a valuable opportunity for makers to apply for support grants to fund mobility.

The grants are distributed through two different action lines:

Individual Mobility, for artists and cultural professionals who want to carry out a project, individually or as a group, with a partner in another Creative Europe country. The current call is open until 31 May 2024 and grants are distributed on a monthly basis. Click here for more info.

Residency, for legal entities that wish to host a residency with artists or cultural professionals from other Creative Europe countries. The next call will be open from 15 March to 15 May 2024. Click here for more info.

The grants contribute to travel and subsistence costs, as well as to expenses connected to hosting a residency. Additional top-ups are offered based on grantees’ individual situation and aim to promote sustainable and inclusive mobility.
