Applications are now open for staff of WCCE member organisations to apply for the 2023 Knowledge Exchange Programme. The opportunity is now in its 2nd edition and is linked to our annual conference’s core theme, which this year was “Crafting the Future: New Skills & Opportunities for Craft“.
The programme acts as an extension of the conference, providing a short residency opportunity for delegates from within our network, to gather and further engage with a topic related to the conference.
There will be two residencies this year – the first one is taking place from 3-5 October in Stockholm during the Curating Craft Conference and the Stockholm Craft Week, in partnership with our member organisation, the Konsthantverkscentrum (The Swedish Crafts Centre). The second one will be announced.
The theme of the programme in Stockholm will be ‘Curatorial Competencies’ – and participants will discuss and engage with concepts of curatorial practice and skills within craft as well as how we can also ‘curate competencies’ within the broader skills development space.
GENERAL PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
3 October | Arrival of participants & group dinner
4 October | “Curating Craft” conference, from 9am-4:30pm and Opening of Stockholm Craft Week from 5-8pm
5 October | Morning knowledge exchange session (programme to be further defined); afternoon, delegates depart.
A second component of the programme is that participants will be required to further disseminate their learnings to a group of at least 6 people within their own organisations/networks/communities. This could take the form of a talk, webinar, gathering or some other creative idea for spreading the knowledge and should take place within your own time in either October or November 2023. WCCE will provide a template for you to complete a short report about your dissemination activity.
Travel, accommodation and meals will be covered by WCCE, under the Creative Europe project, Crafting the Future, co-funded by the EU.
To apply, please fill out the application form HERE. Applications close on 31 August 2023 and successful applicants will be notified in early September.
