The conference took place on the 20th of June at the Disseny Hub Barcelona where we were joined by inspiring speakers including Rosa M. Muñoz Gómez (ohayō), Graciela Melitsko Thornton (Julie’s Bicycle), Jessica Guy (Distributed Design), Paulo Ribeiro (Contemporania High Craftmanship) and Laura Miguel Baumann (WCCE), moderated by David Places Balsalobre and introduced by WCCE vice president, Ana Cristina Mendes and Roger Torrent, Minister of Business and Work of Catalonia.

The conference is the third in a series which have been taking place between 2022-2024 under the EU co-funded CRAFTING project. The theme this year shed light on current overarching key issues within European craft and included unique perspectives related to key topics such as craft economy, entrepreneurship and markets; circularity and sustainability; community, ecosystems and knowledge exchange as well as powerful stories of beauty, object and aesthetics

The programme brought together more than forty craft organisations and stakeholders as well as hundreds of audience members in-person and online to discuss and consider what can be learnt from crafts to benefit other sectors and broader society; what positive stories can be told to bring craft to a wider audience; while bringing attention to important topics and areas for develop in the future of the growing craft sector.
